Technical SEO audit for service businesses and SaaS
Google can only rank the pages it can crawl, render and index. I audit your whole site, find what blocks that, and hand you a clear plan ranked by its impact on traffic and leads.

What is a technical SEO audit?
A technical SEO audit is a full check of the parts of a website that search engines rely on before they even read the content: crawling, rendering, indexing, site structure, page speed and structured data. It answers one question: can Google reach, understand and trust every page that matters to your business?
A content audit asks whether your pages say the right things. A technical audit asks whether Google can see them at all. When the technical base is broken, new content and new links are wasted, because the pages they point to never get indexed or load too slowly to rank.
For a service business or a SaaS company, the pages that matter are the ones that bring leads: service pages, location pages, pricing, demo and trial pages. My audit starts from those pages and works outwards.
When your site needs a technical SEO audit
- Your pages do not show up in Google, or show up and then disappear.
- Search Console lists pages as “Crawled, currently not indexed” or “Duplicate”.
- Your site is slow on mobile or fails Core Web Vitals.
- You redesigned or moved the site and traffic dropped.
- You want an expert check before you spend more on content or ads.
What the technical SEO audit includes
Every audit covers the same five areas. Each finding comes with the affected URLs, why it matters and how to fix it.
Full website crawl & technical error analysis
I crawl every URL the way Googlebot does and list broken links, redirect chains, server errors, orphan pages and blocked resources.
Indexing, crawlability & canonical fixes
I compare what you want indexed with what Google actually indexes, then fix robots.txt rules, noindex tags, canonical tags and sitemaps so the right version of each page ranks.
Core Web Vitals & performance recommendations
I measure Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift on your real templates and list the changes that move them into the good range.
Schema & structured data implementation guidance
I check your schema.org markup for errors and show which types fit your pages, such as Organization, Service, LocalBusiness, FAQPage or Article.
Internal linking & site architecture optimization
I map how authority flows through your menus and links, find important pages buried too deep, and propose a structure where every service page sits close to the homepage.
How the technical SEO audit works
Access and goals
You share access to Google Search Console and, if you have it, Google Analytics. We agree which pages and conversions matter most.
Crawl and data
I crawl the site with Screaming Frog and compare the crawl with your Search Console indexing and performance data.
Findings ranked by impact
Every issue is explained in plain language and ranked by its effect on traffic and leads, so your developer knows what to do first.
Fixes and checks
I fix the issues myself or hand them to your developer with clear instructions, then confirm the results in Search Console.
Tools and data behind the audit
An audit is only as good as its data, so I combine a full crawl with Google's own reports.
- Screaming Frog SEO Spider
- Crawls the site like a search engine and finds technical errors at scale.
- Google Search Console
- Shows which pages Google indexes, which it rejects and why, and how each page performs in search.
- PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse
- Measure Core Web Vitals and loading performance on mobile and desktop.
- Semrush
- Tracks keyword visibility and site health over time.
- Rich Results Test
- Checks structured data against Google's requirements.
Technical SEO audit vs. full SEO audit
A full SEO audit covers three layers: technical health, content and keywords, and backlinks. A technical SEO audit goes deep on the first layer.
Start with the technical audit when pages are missing from Google, when traffic dropped after a redesign or migration, or when the site is slow. Once the base is solid, content and links finally have something to build on.
